About

Evan Galbraith is a tenor saxophonist from Saint Helena in Napa Valley, playing jazz, blues, Latin, and funk. His Napa jazz bands feature a rotating group of some of the region’s most talented jazz and blues musicians. The band and its members regularly perform in public venues and private events throughout California Wine Country.

Evan’s musical journey began early, shaped in part by his grandmother Nettie, who would skillfully play jazz standards like Misty and Satin Doll on her baby grand piano for her grandsons.

Moments like these sparked a lifelong interest in the music.  In his late teens, Evan took a New Year’s Eve gig with a country western band—an unexpected but pivotal experience.  Using the earnings from that night, he decided to start a jazz CD collection. It opened his ears to the music and formed the foundation for his sound today. Though he would later pursue a career in economics, the call of jazz never faded—eventually leading him back to the saxophone and the stage.
